An impressive turn out at All Stars this morning with 26 keen cricketers in attendance who were Catching Comets, Striking Stars and playing Caterpillar Cricket. Thanks to the Parent helpers this week and we hope we didn’t lose any All Stars in Space!

Saturday Results

Good News – the 2nd Team won their 4th game in a row and are now up to 5th in the league. Batting first they scored 165-7 with Jon Painter scoring 48 and Jason Ford 43. In reply stand in skipper Brad Cooper used his bowling resources (which included Dean Godden and Ben Bolton) well to restrict Parley II to 148-7.

Bad news – the 1st Team kept up their 100% record. They went down to a 42 run defeat at Lymington II. The scorecard is here.

The 3rd Team lost by 10 wickets away at Verwood II. Happy Birthday to Mr Church anyway.

Saturday Results

The First Team lost by 20 runs to South Wilts II. After losing the toss they started with two early wickets to leave the score at 1-2 however scores from Weld (54), Pearce (54) and Pittman (47) meant South Wilts posted 213-9 off 50 overs. Adam Freeman ended up with the best figures again with 3-32 and the spin twins (Wayne and Stu) ended up with 2 wickets each.

In reply both Earls fell early but good partnerships between Kumo Sharma (58), Stu (32) and Will Crossley (42) kept Fawley in the game. But as the run rate rose wickets fell (and the live updates hit a problem) and the score ended up at 193-9.  You can see the match scorecard here.

The Second Team defeated Lymington III in a low scoring affair thanks to good contributions all round. Fawley batted first and posted 156-5 off 40 overs thanks to 52 from Mike Shepherd and 35 from skipper Rob Leach. Lymington fell 9 runs short with 2 wickets each for the opening bowlers Riley Tona and Jack Pinto as well as two for Luke Perry. You can see the scorecard here.

The Third Team beat Brockenhurst II by 42 runs after posting 200-6 based on a fine opening partnership of 140 from Paul Hickman and John Church (88). If you haven’t heard about John’s innings then he is happy to talk you through it. He can’t move too well today so you will be able to escape if you don’t want to!
