We are very fortunate that Fawley Cricket Club are able to rely on a number of it’s members to keep the club running, both on and off of the field. All of these persons are volunteers, who receive no payment or gratuity for the time that they commit to the club. The roles that are completed range from Groundsman/Assistant (who spend a huge amount of time preparing the wickets on both squares), Treasurer, Colts Team Managers, Umpires and Scorers.
At this time some club members have multiple roles, which they will not be able to sustain in the long term. The club needs your help, and have a range of roles which we need to recruit into. These include assistant groundsman, club photographer, coaches, fundraiser, disability officer, volunteer coordinator, as well as others!
The English Cricket Board will provide support, primarily with free or low cost training (paid for by the club), to persons who volunteer; the ECB and Hampshire Cricket Board are currently engaged in a recruitment campaign “Be Involved – Invest in your clubs future”. Volunteers who are aged 25 years or under can also be registered with “v-Cricket” and will receive rewards after they complete 25 or 50 hours volunteering.
