Week 1 - Wayne Smith - a brutal 65 not out for the first team against Alton
Week 2 - Dave Morgan - a devasting spell of 3 wickets for 1 run in his second spell to win the match away at Pylewell
Week 3 - Mark Sturgess - a classy 80 in the 3rd team win
Week 4 - Dave Morgan - 5 for 21 in an impressive month of May
Week 5 - Dennis Atkinson - 6 for 15 in the second team win, the best league bowling figures of the season
Week 6 - Del Headley - 5 for 32 showing that we missed his bowling in 2007
Week 7 - Alfie Cole - 69 for the third team and no doubt the first of many league fifties
Week 8 - Jason Ford - 133 in a partnership of 210 with Paints
Week 9 - Wayne Smith - 5 for 21 while taking on the captaincy for the afternoon
Week 10 - Kieran Earl - 79 the second fifty of the league season for Kiers
Week 11 - Rob Leach - 124 his first league hundred beat Andy Parratt's 148 in the Poll after their monster partnership of 255
Week 12 - Brendan Streather - 60 not out showing his dad how to do it
Week 13 - Dave Streather - 82 not out with apparently 30 off the opening over, but obviously inspired by the week before
Week 14 - Ian McElhenny - 62 and 2 wickets showing the form that got him selected for the 1st team
Week 15 - Dale Andrews - 2 wickets and 12 not out saw his team home to take victory in the Tony Woodhouse Trophy
Week 16 - Mike Shepherd - 66 for the thirds and a return to form for the big hitting Shep
Week 17 - Paul Hickman - 5 for 26 could not stop the third team losing but continued his impressive bowling from the Ken Doe game

Club News : Season ends on a low note as all three teams lose

Posted by jester36 on 2008/8/31 23:54:07 (19 reads)

All 3 league teams lost on Saturday to end the season.

With availability again an issue a very young first team went down by 7 wickets to Andover II who finished third in CD1. The 1st team finished 12th with 8 defeats in the last 11 games.

The seconds lost by just 6 runs despite good bowling from Steve Thomas amongst others. Andy McElhenny scored 48 not out but this proved to be one big hit too few. The second team finished 10th in their first season in CD4S.

The third team lost by around 30 runs despite 5 wickets from Paul Hickman. They finished a very creditable 8th and were ultimately the most affected by a lack of availability in August.
