The indoor side continues to do well under the leadership of Kev Glass. They are in the next round of the cup and are doing well in the league division 2. You can see the tables in the attached file.

Indoor Nets

Got a new bat for Christmas? Want to see master batsman Wooly (see his twitter updates for details) in action? Missing the pain of an hour of intense bowling?

Well don’t worry Indoor Nets are nearly here. The sessions for adults will take place at Hardley School starting on Monday 23rd January. The time will be from 6.30pm-8pm. Nets will run for 9 weeks excluding Monday 13th February (Dean take note!) when the school is closed for half term. The cost will be £3 for adults and £1.50 for colts who are attending.

Colts sessions will take place on Mondays and Fridays from 5pm-6pm until the end of March. They start on Monday 20th February. Monday nights will be for Under 13s, Under 15s and Under 17s. Friday nights will be for Under 9s and Under 11s.

There will be 2 members of the committee in charge of each adult session so make sure you are listening to whatever instructions they are giving and remember the aim of the nets is not to try and hit the back wall of the gym as many times as possible.

Quiz Night

There will be a quiz night on Friday 2oth January at the Club. Start time 8pm in the Main Bar. £2 per person and maximum of 5 per team. Contact Cal for more details.

Fantasy Cricket

We will be running a fantasy cricket competition this season based on league performances. Rob Leach is working the numbers now. This will be launched at the Registration Night on Friday 9th March.

BBQs

2011 HCL League Averages

The HCL averages have been released for 2011.

Elliott was ranked 3rd in the RD1S in batting. Ricey trailed in 9th and Kiers was back in 12th. Veteran part timer Morgs made the list in the bowling in 18th place.

Paints made it to 5th in the SWD2 averages while Liam made it to 14th. The retired veteran Deadly Headley was 20th in the bowling.

2012 Fixtures

The 2012 league fixtures are out now.

The first team start at home to Fair Oak, the 2nd Team have a trip to Ryde II and the third team play our 6 a side friends Damerham.

May 26th is a big derby day. The 1st team are at Totton & Eling, the 2nd team host Hythe & Diden II and the 3rd team host Exbury.

Colts development squads

Bailey Parratt and Mathew Forster have both been selected for the New Forest winter training squads for the Under 10s. Bailey has been successful in being selected for the Hampshire winter training squad as well. He is the first Fawley player in many years to make a county squad. Hopfully he can teach his dad how to bowl.

Mathew’s older brother Alex Forster has been selected for New Forest Under 12s winter training squad.

Daniel Newcombe has also been selected for the New Forest squad.

Well done to all 4 colts and to all those involved in running the colts teams as this would not happen without them.
